Email Server Settings (IMAP, POP3 and SMTP) for Hostking

Use these settings when adding your Hostking email account to any email client — including Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, iPhone, iPad or Android.

Your Mail Server Address

Your mail server is based on your own domain name:

mail.yourdomain.com

Replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name. For example, if your domain is smithplumbing.co.za, your mail server is mail.smithplumbing.co.za.

Recommended Settings — IMAP (Sync Across All Devices)

IMAP is recommended for most users. It keeps your emails synced across all devices — phone, laptop, tablet. Emails stay on the server and are accessible everywhere.

Setting Value
Account type IMAP
Incoming server mail.yourdomain.com
Incoming port 993
Incoming encryption SSL/TLS
Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.yourdomain.com

Alternative Settings — POP3 (Download to One Device Only)

POP3 downloads emails to one device and removes them from the server. Only use this if you want emails stored locally and you access email from one device only.

Setting Value
Account type POP3
Incoming server mail.yourdomain.com
Incoming port 995
Incoming encryption SSL/TLS
Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.yourdomain.com
Outgoing port 465

Webmail Access

You can also access your email directly in a browser without any email client. Go to:

https://mail.yourdomain.com

Log in with your full email address and password.

Alternatively, log into my.hostking.host, go to your hosting service and click Webmail.

Where to Find or Reset Your Email Password

Your email password is the one you set when creating the email account in DirectAdmin or cPanel — it is separate from your Hostking client portal password.

To reset it, log into DirectAdmin, go to Email Accounts, click on the account and set a new password.
